Finally, here is our fourth newsletter!   We have been moving into our new house, and it has been quite a job (in this intense summer heat).  That is why it has been some time since we have been able to get the newsletter out to you, our friends and fans.  We appreciate your patience with us, and we are very happy to tell you that we have a lot of great things going on this summer!

We are continuing our “series” of feature stories about the great musicians with whom we are privileged to perform our music.  This month, we would like to tell you about TWO musicians we love—Denny and Dan Gutenkauf.  These are twin brothers, both talented and entertaining, and we have so much fun with them!  Denny plays the guitar, and Dan plays the bass guitar.  They are from Des Moines, Iowa, where they grew up playing music together.  In their high school years, they formed the band “Rhythms Children,” along with some talented friends of theirs, and they played sock hops, private parties, etc.  They attended Creighton University, and continued playing music through their college years.  They relocated to Phoenix in 1978, and they have definitely established themselves as first call musicians.  They even made a cameo appearance as the wedding band in a miniseries movie for CBS in 1995, “The Last Mafia Marriage!”  Denny and Dan have been performing with “Peggy Kaye and the Blu Notes” at Greenfield Village, along with our favorite, Brad Bauder, on tenor sax and clarinet.  What a swinging five-piece band that is!!  We have a couple of great things on the horizon for this particular group, and we will let you know as things develop!

Our schedule is on page 2 this month, so feel free to check it out!  We hope to see you if you are in the neighborhood of any of our fun gigs!
